Palliative Care

Many questions can arise when you hear that yourself or a loved one is not getting better. You don't have to go through this emotional time alone. A palliative nurse offers you a listening ear and can help you organize practical matters, answer your questions and alleviate your situation.

What our palliative care includes:

  • Psychological care
  • Promote physical comfort
  • Support in the acceptance process, also for the partner
  • Arranging material matters: health insurance, hospital accommodation costs for family, etc.
  • Existential care: support with a religious or moral slant
  • Answer questions about symptoms, home care options, resources, etc.

Caregivers break
The work of a carer is already intensive enough. As a palliative carer, the intervention of a volunteer or professional can therefore offer a solution in the event of emotional pressure.

Request indication
If you have an indication, palliative care is paid from the basic insurance, without deduction of the 'deductible'. You can obtain this indication with the help of an Essentia nurse. He or she will visit you free of charge to discuss your wishes and to complete the care request. A referral letter from the GP is not required for this.
