How does it work?
The personal alarm is an alarm system that is placed near your telephone connection. In addition, you wear a waterproof alarm strap on your wrist. This allows you to continue your daily activities, such as washing dishes or taking a shower. Have you become unwell or have you fallen? In such cases, you prefer to be helped as quickly and smoothly as possible. Pressing the button on your wristband will call the Essentia team. You will immediately be able to speak to an employee, without being near your telephone. The device has a range of approximately 50 meters. Would you rather contact your informal caregiver(s) first? The alarm can be set in such a way that an Essentia employee will only speak to you in the absence of your carers. You can expect help from the service center at your home 30 minutes later.

Cost
Are there medical reasons to purchase a personal alarm? In that case, the costs of the device will be partly reimbursed by your health insurer. The amount that you pay yourself will then be approximately 30 to 40 euros. A statement from your GP is required for this partial reimbursement of the alarm. In all other cases you pay a price that depends on your own wishes for calling in help. The costs can therefore vary from 20 to 180 euros.
